Not sure if you noticed, but I recently added
Google AdSense to my site . If you're wondering why I'd do that, it's definitely not an attempt to make money; I don't get enough traffic for that....:)
I want to use it as my barometer for my search engine optimization (SEO) on the site. I figure that the better my SEO is, the more traffic I should get and the more money I should make. If I actually do make any money I'll donate it to the
Canadian Diabetes Association.
If you look under the hoods of this site you'll notice that I used
Grids CSS by Yahoo!; it has got to be the easiest/quickest way to create
standards compliant XHTML. In a matter of minutes I had the basic layout of the site all setup. After that, it was just a matter of picking my color scheme...
I've added the
Google AJAX Search to the site via their API; it's actually super easy to use. I've combined it with
Thickbox in the right column to allow for easy searching.
I figured it was time to update my website, it had a pretty stale look...so here it is!
My main goals for the site are to keep it standards compliant and to use it as my playground for trying out various client-side APIs, components, etc.. You'll already notice that I've used Thickbox and the Google AJAX Search API. Before long you should see many other little widgets appearing...enjoy!
